Christoph Gärtner has been a passionate collector since the age of nine. He decided to turn his hobby into a profession and started his own business immediately after graduating from high school. His first price list was four pages long. From the beginning, his goal was to establish himself on the international market. Within two decades, the company developed into the world's leading trading house for postal stationery and a specialist in thematic and postal history. Looking to the future, the Gärtner Auction House was founded in 2004. Since April 2005, the Gärtner trading and auction houses have been united in the company's own building. Spacious viewing and storage areas, as well as a dedicated auction hall, offer ample room for further philatelic activities in the long term. In June 2006, Christoph Gärtner successfully conducted his first international auction. After just four auctions in September 2007, the company was among the most successful auction and trading houses worldwide. Today, the auction house holds three to four international public auctions annually.
